Dr Charlotte Ball at Erasmus Darwin House.
Medieval medicine has a brutal reputation – only partly deserved! In this talk, we will explore what Anglo-Saxon medicine was like and how practitioners used herbs, prayer and magic to effect cures for the ailing. We’ll look at medicine that worked, medicine that did not work, as well as a few other quirks of the fascinating manuscript evidence along the way.
Tickets £10 from the website.
Tea/coffee served before the talk.
