To mark the 80th anniversary of many landmark moments during the Second World War, the National Memorial Arboretum is hosting a FREE event inspired by the year 1944.
Transport back in time and enjoy a weekend packed full of activities, including live music, dance workshops and children’s crafts and games.
Show off your vintage moves at a Swing Era dance workshop, meet roaming actors who will bring the past to life.
For those who enjoy live music, singer Beth Belle and female choir The Heath Belles will be performing nostalgic tunes throughout the weekend.
Younger visitors won’t be short of excitement as they are invited to craft their own vintage inspired creations during onsite arts and crafts session, and join in with the lawn games which will be available throughout the weekend.
What’s more, the Arboretum will be launching new 1944 themed guided tours and opening the doors to its brand-new exhibition, 1944 – What’s Your Connection, allowing visitors to step back in time and find out what life was like on the home front 80 years ago.
