Award-winning singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, James Kirby, has built a loyal international fan base over recent years, selling out venues and captivating audiences worldwide with his mellow voice and distinctive percussive guitar playing.
Blending elements of folk, pop, blues, and indie rock, his compositions range from fast and furious to heartfelt and melodic, with James finding new and unorthodox techniques to make music from every part of the acoustic guitar.
With a fan base spanning across the world, James Kirby isn’t shy in expressing his gratitude for his loyal fans, who regularly travel across the country to hear his upbeat and eclectic sound. With over 100,000 listens on spotify, his latest album Honest Man is gaining traction on the singer songwriter scene.
‘My favourite songs to write are upbeat usually with a touch of blues’
His style and influences come from all over, from easy listening, to more blues and percussive style guitar playing, he provides something for everyone at his gigs. With every performance he brings an authenticity and a genuine love for his music that is infectious. You can’t help but leave with a smile on your face after one of his lively performances.
Inspired by his real life experiences of ‘travel, love and loss’ he enjoys the songwriting process. It’s hard for him to choose a favourite, but the guitar driven track ‘Rising’ stands out to him.
‘It's one of those songs that people are almost waiting for at my concerts. It would normally be towards the end of my show that I would perform that song, or even finish with because it's so upbeat, and there's so much to it’
