There will be a special presentation made on Remembrance Sunday as part of a full programme of services.

During the main service at 10am two Victoria Crosses will be awarded to members of the Mercian Regiment.

The Vice Lord Lieutenant of Staffordshire will be joined by the Civic Representatives, Uniformed organisations and also students and staff from DMS Whittington as well as other representatives from the Mercian Regiment.

The national silence will be at 11.00 in the Cathedral followed at 11.15 by Imagine Peace, where a pledge is made for peace in an act that will encourage all people to look forward and take responsibility as human beings, as peacemakers and reconcilers in the world, by the way in which people lead their lives.

Later in the day at 17.30 there will be a Requiem Eucharist for Remembrance Sunday when prayers will be offered for those who have died in conflict.

On Remembrance Day itself 11.11.19, there will be a special Armistice Day service led by the Cathedral School which will also incorporate the silence at 11.00.
