In celebration of the bravery of so many unsung heroes of the second world war, Lesley Smith is giving a deeply moving performance as Peggy Knight who became a member of Churchill’s Special Operations Executive. Dropped behind enemy lines, having previously been a shorthand typist just over three weeks earlier, she demonstrated such courage for our sake, she was decorated by three countries including Britain. It was a fantastic and dangerous adventure for this young woman, who made a real contribution to the Allied cause, but is hardly known today. Come and discover her story, and bring a union flag to wave at the end of the performance if you can.
