We’re delighted to be hosting two excellent Midlands based Big Bands during the Sunday afternoon of our Jazz & Blues Festival. Firstly, long-time regulars to the festival, and featuring some of the finest Jazz musicians locally, the Walsall Jazz Orchestra (WJO). Whether it’s playing original compositions by members of band, or roaring through contemporary jazz classics, WJO never fails to impress with its punchy ensemble playing, outstanding soloists, and funky rhythm section.

Following WJO, the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire’s Jazz Orchestra (RBCJO) will grace the Jazz & Blues Festival stage with a special performance. Led by Jazz Lecturer and Composer/Arranger Ed Puddick, the RBCJO showcases talented students from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire's Jazz Course. Joining them are esteemed guests blues guitarist Steve Ajao and renowned jazz saxophonist Paul Dunmall.
