The Gunpowder Plot.
Join Lichfield historian, tour guide and author Jono Oates as he tells the fascinating story of the Gunpowder Treason Plot of November 5 1605. Guy Fawkes and his fellow conspirators planned to blow up the House of Lords, and King James I, leading to the well-known rhyme ‘Remember, remember the 5th of November’. Jono tells the bloody build-up to the plot, the dramatic discovery of the hidden gunpowder, and the aftermath of one of the most outrageous incidents in British history, as well as the story behind the famous rhyme.
