England is now in Step 1 of the roadmap out of lockdown. The ‘stay at home’ rule ended on March 29 and up to 6 people or 2 households can now meet outside.
Outdoor sports facilities such as tennis and basketball courts, and open-air swimming pools, will also be allowed to reopen, and people will be able to take part in formally organised outdoor sports.
Until April 12, the following restrictions still apply:
- Hospitality settings, such as bars, pubs, cafes and restaurants must remain closed – they are permitted to offer takeaway, click-and-collect, drive-through or delivery services
- Indoor entertainment and tourist venues must remain closed.
- Excluding certain exemptions hotels, B&Bs, campsites, and guest houses must remain closed.
