Drayton Manor Team

After a decade of providing fun and laughter for all the family in its Thomas Land™ attraction, Drayton Manor Park is celebrating this milestone anniversary by releasing some fun facts about the little blue tank engine and his friends!

  1. Since its installation, the Thomas engine, which journeys from Knapford Station to Tidmouth Hault, has travelled an incredible 13,799 miles in total. This is the equivalent to travelling from Scotland to London and back nearly 15 times!
  2. More than 2,558,465 people have hopped aboard the Thomas engine to journey through Thomas Land and see the sights
  3. Over 5,000 balls have been used in the ball pit in Emily’s Indoor Play Area, which is conveniently located indoors, should the British weather take a turn!
  4. Nearly 40,000 driving licences have been sold since 2014 – this means everyone living in Cleethorpes could have their very own Thomas Land driving licence
  5. Thomas Land’s shops have sold more than 20,000 Thomas train toys over the past decade
  6. Approximately 850,000 ice-creams have been purchased by those craving a sweet-treat during their visit since Thomas Land opened in 2008
  7. More than 5,000 families have taken home a memory that will last a lifetime with a family photo as part of their Ultimate Thomas Land VIP Experience
  8. Seven new rides have been added to Thomas Land since it first opened ten years ago, not forgetting an extra Thomas Shop, Sodor Airport and the VIP rooms too
  9. Thomas Land has been a welcome addition for the local economy, creating approximately 1,045 jobs
  10. The attraction has proved as popular as ever after welcoming more than 10,000 visitors during February half-term and Thomas & Friends Weekends this year alone

The park is looking forward to welcoming even more guests throughout the rest of the 2018 season, which includes its Summer Sensation, from Wednesday 25th July to Monday 3rd September.
