WWI Summer Holiday Activities
This year the National Memorial Arboretum will be marking the centenary of the end of the First World War, with a series of fun family activities.
Throughout the summer holidays, younger visitors can enjoy discovering the stories behind a variety of First World War characters using the Arboretum’s WWI Thank You Children’s Backpacks. Visitors can also participate in summer storytelling sessions, delivered by costumed interpreters. The stories will help visitors learn more about the people who lived and served during the First World War.
Alternatively, why not take a walk through the Arboretum's new exhibition, Thank You: Legacies of War. This free exhibition examines some of the everyday items that can trace their development back to the First World War, and the impact this had both then and into the future.
These activities will be available on selected dates throughout the summer, please visit the Arboretum website for specific dates and further details.
- Free entry, donations appreciated. A small fee may apply for some activities.
